is the Holy Spirit a bird? well let me answer that for you...not exactly.  He did take on the form of a dove when He descended upon Jesus after his baptism...but God the Holy Spirit is so much more than a little birdy! Too often older churchy artwork shows God the father with a big white beard...Jesus with the brown beard and a gold metal plate behind his head...and of course, the Holy Spirit as...you guessed it...a bird.  I suppose it is one of the actual forms that He did take when he manifested himself on earth upon Jesus...but He sure isn't limited to that!  The bible also speaks of Him coming in power like a mighty rushing wind...and fire! wow!  Sometimes our perspectives about who God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are very narrow.  That can be because of what we've seen at church...or in books...but there must be more!  They are more REAL than the air we breathe...than the ground we walk on...and the ipod we listen to!  The relationship that the Holy Spirit desires to have with us is closer and more intimate and real than anything we can imagine!

This Thursday...we're going to continue to dig a bit deeper regarding The Holy Spirit...and we'll see that He's much more than a bird!
